Overview
The most reasonable accommodation in
all of Ontario, The Rainbow Retreat is a lesbian and gay
friendly retreat property serving as a Bed and Breakfast with ample
space outdoors for
camping as well. We are located on six secluded acres next
to Lake Couchiching in Floral Park, Ontario.
Ideally suited for
small groups (15 max for indoor winter accommodations) and large
(tenting), for individuals, couples, and
families, we are
also
wheelchair accessible. This land is alcohol and chemical free,
and
smoking is permitted in designated areas outdoors only. Children
and friendly pets always welcome!
Come
and rest in
this idyllic setting, soak in the wonderful solitude
and
walk in the trails through the woods or use it as your departure point
at
any
time during the year for Muskoka sights and scenic boat rides,
canoeing,
skiing or snow shoeing. Look locally for events from pow wows to crafts
festivals, to studio tours and fall fairs and jazz festivals ... and
much more.
Jo
Marshall is
a member of Salaam, QMC, Toronto; a member of
Singing OUT!, the LGBT Chorus of Toronto; and has assisted with several
programs for older lesbians at
the 519 Community Centre in Toronto. She previously
owned
and operated a
residential treatment home for developmentally delayed children and
adults for 25 years. This home has been transformed into The
Rainbow
Retreat.
Jo is a Cheraga (ordained
clergy) in the Sufi Order of the West,
an
interdenominational spiritual organization.
She loves her animals, dogs and cats, frogs and fish, her children, and her friends. Her meals are raved about, whether Thanksgiving dinner, or BBQ venison chops, and you will find irresistible the homemade apple pie, fresh peach pie, and cherry cheese cake.
